01What is the difference between a raised flat and a skillion carport?
Nothing — two names for one profile: a single roof plane on a fall, set higher at the house than at the outer posts. Some suppliers say raised flat, some say skillion, and the kit is the same.
02How much clearance can I get?
That is set by how high the back edge is raised above the eave, and by what your council will approve. Measure the tallest thing you want under it, including a roof rack or a rooftop tent, and send that number with your span.
03Does the extra height cause a problem with council?
It can. Height and boundary setback are two of the things a WA council looks at closely, and a carport forward of the house line gets more attention again. Your kit ships with the engineer-rated plans the application asks for.
04Is it harder to build than a flat roof carport?
Barely. There is no ridge and every sheet runs one way. The difference is the raising brackets at the house, and getting that line straight before anything else goes on.
