DIY Patio and Carport Kit Prices in Perth

What moves the number, what people forget to budget for, and why we quote rather than list.

The short answer

Price is driven by the span, the roof profile, the colour and where it is going — not by a list. We do not publish price ranges here, because a number that is not based on your measurements is a guess that gets corrected at quoting. Send the span and you get a fixed price for the kit.

01

What actually moves the number

Most of the cost is steel and how far it has to reach. Everything below changes that, and they compound.

  • Span — the single biggest factor, because a wider opening needs a deeper beam rather than more steel of the same size
  • Depth or projection — how far it comes out from the wall or across the driveway
  • Roof profile — a flat roof has fewer parts to set out than a gable; insulated panel is a different product again
  • Posts — how many, and whether the design puts them where the ground can take them
  • Colour — Colorbond range choice, which is usually a smaller factor than people expect
  • Delivery — metro or regional, which is freight rather than product

02

The costs nobody puts in the quote

A kit price is a kit price. These are the things that turn up afterwards and are worth budgeting for before you commit.

Steel posts standing plumb in fresh concrete footings, braced with timber while the concrete goes off
  • Concrete for the footings, and hire for a post-hole digger if you do not own one
  • Council application fees, which vary by council
  • A second pair of hands for the day the roof goes on — this is not a solo job
  • Any levelling, paving or slab work the site needs first
  • Scaffold or a decent ladder if the eave is high

The kit is usually the predictable part. The site is where surprises live, which is why we ask for a photo.

03

Why we quote instead of listing prices

Every kit here is cut to a measurement, so a list price would have to assume a span. The moment your span differs, the number is wrong, and you find out at the worst possible point.

A quote takes the measurements and comes back fixed on the kit, with a list of what is in it. That is a number you can hold against anyone else's.

04

How to get a number quickly

Three things get you a real price in one exchange rather than four.

  • The width and the depth you want covered, roughly is fine
  • The height under your eave if it is going against the house
  • A photo of the spot, taken standing back far enough to see the whole area

Kit price questions

Why is there no price list on this site?

Because every kit is cut to your span, so any listed figure would assume a size that is probably not yours. We would rather quote your actual measurements than publish a number that gets corrected later.

Is a kit cheaper than getting it installed?

Usually, and the saving is the labour rather than the materials. Installation is normally the biggest line on a patio quote, so doing it yourself is where the difference comes from.

Does the colour change the price?

It can, though it is generally a smaller factor than span or roof profile. Pick the colour you actually want and let the quote tell you whether it moved anything.

Is the quote fixed?

Fixed on the kit, from the measurements you give us. If the measurements change, the kit changes, so it is worth measuring twice before you send them.

Do you price the concrete and the footings?

No — the quote covers the kit, delivered. Footings are concrete and labour on your site, and they vary too much with ground conditions for us to put a number on them honestly.

Width, depth, the height under your eave and a photo of the spot. We come back with a fixed price for the kit and a list of everything in it.
