Why people pick an insulated patio

  • A finished ceilingThe underside is flat Colorbond, so you are not looking up at purlins and sheet ribs.
  • Quieter in the rainThe foam core between the two faces takes the drumming out of a downpour.
  • Fewer supports underneathThe panel carries itself, so there is less framing in the way of the view.

Insulated patio questions

01How much cooler is an insulated patio?

We do not publish a figure, because the honest answer depends on your orientation, your span and what the sun does to that wall. What the panel does is put a foam core between two sheets of Colorbond instead of one sheet on its own.

02Is an insulated roof harder to build?

The panels are heavier than single sheets, so it is a two-person lift rather than a one-person one. Otherwise the build is the same, and there are fewer purlins to fix off.

03Can I have insulated on a gable?

Yes. Insulated describes the panel, not the shape, so it can be flat or gable. The ridge detail changes slightly to suit the thicker panel.

04Do I still need a gutter and downpipe?

Yes. The panel sheds water the same way a single sheet does, so the gutter, downpipe and wall flashing are all part of the kit.
